Dj Bakto (Jaka Batič, born 1979, Ljubljana, Yugoslavia) started playing in 1999 in club Gromka, Ljubljana. There he started Lounge Guerrilla, a series of eclectic electronic music events. A year later he joined the Code.EP crew and began to play in Ljubljana’s most most prominent club - the K4. Since then he’s been playing in almost all Slovenian clubs and festivals. He is also a frequent guest star at events in the neighboring countries. He also worked with Slovenian jazz band called Projekt Mesto. From the very beginning he’s been playing many different styles of music, from leftfield hip hop, old school breakbeats and funk, to nu school breaks, electro and drum’n’bass. He is also a keen collector of vintage vinyl, especially Yugoslavian beat music which also gets incorporated into his sets. You can hear him on all kinds of events from hip hop parties to drum’n’bass and breakbeat events, where often plays alongside renowned people from all around the world of electronic music.
